Nick & Susan, 30 mai 2009, Baia Mare

Nicu_Susan

Ceremonia religioasa a avut loc in biserica Logos, loc in care imi face de fiecare data placere sa fotografiez.

And now in english, for Susan and her friends:

I was close to entitleling today’s post “The Google Bride”, and that’s because these two people have met throughout the Internet (Susan is from Indonesia, so they wouldn’t have a chance to meet on the street:)). Usually, you think this might happen only in movies or, but actually they are not my first acquaintances who have met this way. Now, please do not misunderstand, “The Bride Google” does not mean that Nicu (or Nick, how Susan likes to tell him) gave a search in Google with the terms: “I want a young bride from Asia, 90-60-90”. I know Nick very well, since kindergarten, and we were colleagues until we finished school. I guarantee for his earnes, so this option is ruled out. I like to think that, at least the site on which they have met was found google-ing . About the way they have met, you can read what Susan wrote here, and about all their experience with intercultural marriage you can read on the same blog

Although the civil marriage took place earlier, we did not manage to make time for the photosesion during the day. Only at the end of wedding we took some portraits, on the halls of Mara hotel. The religious ceremony took place at Logos church, a place where every time it’s a pleasure for me to take photographs. A new fact: as a symbol of intercultural marriage, in the religious program there was a ceremony called “the egg breaking ceremony”. The bridegroom breaks an egg with the right leg, and after that the bride washes his leg. In Indonesian culture, these means that from that day, the bridegroom will be the head of the new family, and the bride will serve and sustain him.

Is is worth remembering that Susan had a beautiful and unusual bride dress which is traditional in Indonesia, but this you will probably notice from photos.
